Khabib Nurmagomedov net worth: How much is UFC star worth ahead of Gaethje fight?

Khabib Nurmagomedov has built up a vast net worth as one of UFC’s biggest stars. He is undefeated in 28 professional fights heading into the showdown with Justin Gaethje. Nurmagomedov earned a guaranteed purse of £1.6million ($2million) from the UFC 229 grudge match with Conor McGregor.

He then went on to collect £4.5m ($6m) for his win over Dustin Poirier in his last Octagon outing in 2019.

The Russian is now reportedly in line for a £7.6m ($10m) payday from the clash with Gaethje.

Ahead of the UFC 254 bout, former MMA star Daniel Cormier revealed that Nurmagomedov once told of his plan to earn such figures.

Speaking to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Cormier said: “You know what [Khabib] told me one time, years ago, ‘Brother, I’m going to be world champion, and I’m going to fight for $10million every fight’.

“I promise you. Years ago, and we all go, ‘No chance’. Because nobody was making $10 million at the time.

“And I’m sure right now Khabib is fighting as the world champion at 28-0 for $10 million, straight.

“He sure doesn’t need the money, but he told me that, because he said it was going to change.

“He was going to be so big that things would change. And now, it has happened. He has done all the stuff he said he would do.”

How much is Khabib Nurmagomedov worth?

Wealthy Gorilla places Nurmagomedov’s net worth at £23million ($30m).

However, the fighter’s father Abdulmanap, who died in July following complications caused by COVID-19, previously revealed his son’s wealth was closer to £76m ($100m).

When asked to estimate where the UFC champion would rank on the Forbes rich list, he said: “I’ll be honest, I don’t know for sure.”

Abdulmanap was then questioned if his son was worth between $10m to $50m, but he replied: “Not enough.”

He then went on to insist £76m ($100m) was a far more “realistic” figure to sum up the fighter’s worth.

Nurmagomedov’s net worth is also boosted lucrative endorsements and sponsorship deals

But despite his status as one of the leading stars of UFC, the 32-year-old insists he is not motivated by money.

He told Yahoo Sports: “How much money you need for living very good life for the next 30 years? 50 million or 15 million? 500 million?

“You never know when you’re going to die too. You never know. Maybe 35, maybe 45, maybe 75, but you never know. That’s why let’s live in this day. Lets live in this life, this day.

“I don’t wanna think about what’s going to happen in the future. I’m gonna fight Justin Gaethje and after Justin Gaethje, who else? Conor McGregor? I beat him already, why do I have to fight him?

“He have to come back and be busy. I don’t think he ever gonna deserve this title shot. He is not focused, drunk too much, smash old people. He don’t deserve my attention like give him coaching with me Ultimate Fighter something like this. Forget about him.”
