NBA world reacts to reported Chris Paul trade to the Suns
With Chris Paul being thrown around the NBA’s Western Conference like a hot potato, the Phoenix Suns are the latest to acquire Paul’s services, trading Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and a 2022 first-round pick for Paul and forward Abdel Nader, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The trade marks Paul’s third team in three years and his fourth in five, spending that time with the Clippers, Rockets, Thunder and now, reportedly, the Suns.
After a surprising and wildly successful season with the Thunder, Paul is on the move again, somewhat unsurprisingly given his contract and apparent fit with the now-rebuilding Thunder. While Paul helped push the Thunder to the playoffs in a 44-28 season, he’s expected to also work wonders with the Suns young 1-2 punch of Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton.
With Paul at the center of trade rumors once again this offseason, some pegged the veteran point guard to make his way back east, with the Knicks and 76ers supposedly in the market for his services. That, obviously, didn’t come to be, and now the Suns have a good opportunity to make some noise in a crowded Western Conference.
